    Mamata Banerjee signs MoU with Netherlands football association, seeks bright future for state footballers

    NEW DELHI: In order to secure a bright future for all the football players in West Bengal, state chief minister Mamata Banerjee signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Netherlands’ biggest football association, ‘Royal Netherlands Football Association’.
    “Love for football runs in Bengal’s blood. Every Bengali heart beats for football, they can’t live without it,” she said.

    Mamata is on a trip to the country amid violent protests in Darjeeling called by Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM). According to the terms of the MoU, RNFA will lend their support and share their expertise with the football players of West Bengal.
    In near future, the Dutch coaches will train Bengal footballers.
    Netherlands tops the chart in world football. Soccer superstars like Johan Cruyff, Marco Van Basten, Frank Rijkaard, Robin Van Persie have all emerged from the Netherlands.
