Sonakshi Sinha is a popular Indian actress. She is the daughter of actors Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha. She started her career as a model. She was born on 2nd June, 1987 in Bombay. She got her break in Bollywood movies after Salman Khan signed her in the movie Dabang.

The film led her to win the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.

She has also played in many films like Rowdy Rathore, Son of Sardaar, Dabangg 2, Holiday and others. Though, she had given lots of super hit movies, she was criticized for taking up roles that offered her limited scope. She received critical praise for her role in the movie Lootera. She had played as a women suffering from tuberculosis. She was also nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress in 2013 from the film Lootera.

Sonakshi has also sung a small part in the movie Tevar. Her official song was Aaj Mood Isqholic Hain which was released on 23rd December, 2015. Her latest released movie is Noor. Her upcoming movie is Ittefaq directed by Abhay Chopra. Sidharth Malhotra is opposite of her in the movie.
