The village is one of the smallest villages of South Australia. The name of the village is Coober Pedy. Around 60 % of people live in underground houses. There are many opal mines. There are more than 70 opal fields in this village and it is the world’s biggest territory of opal mining.

According to the report, the underground houses are fully furnished and all the facilities are available there. There are 1500 underground houses and more than 3500 people lives here. The temperature in these houses is normal. People do not feel hot in hot climate and cold in winter season.

It also said that there are underground stores, bar, casino, museum, church and others along with underground houses. The shooting of Hollywood movies are also done there. Pitch Black movie was also shot here. This city has also become a center for tourists.
