Nepali workers in Gulf countries and Malaysia begins

Foreign Employment Promotion Board(FEPB) has started rescuing Nepali migrant workers who are serving jail terms in different Gulf countries and Malaysia with the help of law experts.FEPB has already allocated Rs 6.3 m for facilitating the rescue process. This fund will be used to hire lawyers who will provide trouble-ridden Nepali migrant workers with legal advice.

“This amount is adequate enough for rescuing all the Nepali migrant workers who are facing different kinds of problems including jail term. We will send the next installments gradually”, said Executive Director of the FEPB Raghuraj Kafle.The Nepali workers who are expected to benefit from this rescue process include workers who fled the company they were supposed to work with, workers without passport and workers who committed different crimes.

With linguistic factor in mind, the FEPB has decided to give priority to lawyers from the concerned countries. ” We will give more priority to lawyers from the Gulf countries and Malaysia than to lawyers hailing from other countries”, said the EEPB Executive Director Kafle.
